School crafts are just as special as a bought gift. I actually prefer something the kids made for me.

Over the years, I have received quite a few gifts that were made from school. Most of them made it home while the rest came in pieces. (This can happen when the kids stick the gift in their backpacks.)

For example this is one of the gifts my 4 yr old made this year in Pre-K. I thought it was the sweetest paperweight I have ever seen. He was so proud of it too. “I made it myself, Mommy! It’s for you!”

I’ll keep it forever.

We get a breeze of the summer weather then it decides to rain for days on end. The younger boys are ready to get out and play so we have invented a new game we can play in the rain. (If it’s not to cold.)

” Musical Umbrellas “ This is a game like musical chairs but, of course this is in the rain with umbrella’s instead of chairs. (I’ll have to get a video of them. It’s pretty cute and fun.) The same rules apply. The last one left holding the umbrella wins.

He’s my little winner for the day!

This little man came running to me saying, “Look at me Mom!” he was so proud of the mud artwork he had made on his body. It was priceless let me tell you!

It also makes me think of myself as a child. I used to love to take my shoes off and get into the mud puddles just after a good hard rain. I loved the way the mud would go between my toes.. icky but, nice. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that feeling.

My most rememberable moment was with my cousin Randal. We played for hours in the mud puddles stopping around with our feet. Then we got the idea of making mud pies, mud pankcakes.. you name it we made it that day. We then got this big idea that we would put mud on our faces. We were going to be “indians”. We were so proud and thought we were pretty “cool”. We surprised my aunt Velma meeting her at the front door. She wasn’t to happy about our new body art at all. lol

So, when I seen him running saying, “Look at me Mom!” My heart just melted.. he had discovered MUD!
